Exercising with Your Stroller Doesn’t Have to be Boring

As a new mom I am sure that you have realized that sometimes getting back to your pre baby fitness level might be a bit more difficult than what you expected. With the extra responsibilities on you now, fitting in the exercise at home can be a bit stressful and chances are it goes to the bottom of the list on most days. The good news is that using your stroller and your infant, you can really get in some good workouts.

There are many stroller fitness groups that are popping up and focus on fitness for pregnant moms and post pregnancy moms. Most of these groups offer a certified fitness instructor that will work with you to show you safe aerobic exercises, stretching and walking or jogging with your stroller and baby in tow.

Working out with your stroller is safe and fun to do. You can meet new moms in your area and work out at the same time. Many times just walking and strolling around can be boring. If there is not fitness group in your area, plan outings with other moms and take in long walks through parks, gardens, and trails where you have something to look at besides cement.

While a jogging stroller is great for these types of outings and exercise programs, it is certainly not necessary. Outfit your stroller with your CityGrips handlebar grips for sweat absorption and comfort and hit the road. You and your baby will love it!

Checking out Some New Stroller Accessories

I don’t know about you, but I use the heck out my stroller and having some additional accessories for my stroller really helps to make my day go a lot better. There are some really cool ones that I find will really help me and my child’s strolling experience.

First of all… CityGrips! I have to start with these not only because I invented them but because they really are a necessity to moms that use their stroller daily. You should, use them, if not for the comfort, then at least for the cleanliness part of it.

A cup carrier is of course next on my list as well as the awesome accessory bags that attach to your stroller for holding drinks, bottles, keys, other goodies that you carry with you daily. There are also larger tote bags that can attach to the bottom of your stroller, should yours not have one already. These are so necessary for carting your purchases home.

I am loving the sleep shades that attach to the front of the stroller that have the sun blocking material and will darken the interior of the stroller for those babies that love to sleep while strolling. This is great because it allows air to circulate but keeps the beating sun off of the child. It also means that you do not have to toss blankets over which scares me anyway. Not sure how babies breathe with those heavy blankets restricting their air supply. No Way. This is much better and safer!

Oh another great item is the cool rain slicker covers that go over the stroller that will protect baby from rain and wind. These are great especially if you use your stroller in all types of weather, like I do.

What is your favorite stroller accessory you cannot live without?

Is a Jogging Stroller the Right Choice for You?

The amount of different styles of strollers available on the market today is amazing. There are so many features to them; you can honestly get overwhelmed with the available choices. One of the options is a three wheeled jogging style stroller. Are they only for jogging though? Let’s take a look at these and see if this is this style a something you will need with your children.

The Jogging Stroller is a three wheeled stroller that normally has a single front wheel and 2 wheels in the rear. Some of the models available have the front wheel a bit larger for additional stability when jogging. Most of the models have that wheel fixed so it does not rotate at all. This makes it safer for jogging or exercising with your children but may not make it the right stroller to use for daily use as the turning and cornering in tight places would not be as efficient.

Some other things to look for in a Jogging Style Stroller would be independent braking systems. These are very useful to help stop the stroller when jogging. Look at the wheel size. If you are jogging or walking off road, then a stroller with the thicker tires would be the right choice. If your main use will be on a road or sidewalk, thinner, softer tires will be the best choice.

How lightweight is the stroller? If you are going to be taking it in and out of a car several times a day, you will want a Jogging Stroller that will collapse with the flick of a switch. Also look at the seat for cushion and adjustability for your child and the harness. Make sure all are sufficient for a lot of movement. The handle height for the stroller is important too. Make sure it fits you and it comfortable with your CityGrips Stroller Handlebar Grip Covers attached.

Jogging Strollers are great for getting in your exercise, but if your main use of your stroller will be everyday activities, a regular one may be the right choice. Of course, a second stroller could be an option too.

How to Choose the Right Stroller

Choosing your stroller is an important step when preparing for the arrival of your child. There are so many different things to look for so that you make the right choice. We are going to look at a few of them so you can get a head start when looking for your next stroller.

The selection of strollers today is great and you can really find models that incorporate so many different things into them, it is quite amazing but it can be confusing too! Let’s start by making a check list of things for you to decide.

Cost – the range is huge and so are the features.

Size – How big of a stroller do you really need or want? Look at how often are you going to use it and how you will use it.
Manageability – This is a big one. Can you fold it down and hoist it into a trunk easily by yourself? Does it fold easily in a press of a button or is it several steps?

Usability – Is this stroller sturdy enough for multiple kids to use it, if you are planning on more kids? Can you carry items too? Will it work from infant through toddler years?

How Are You Going to Use it – Do you live in an urban area where you must have a stroller daily or is it going to be used occasionally? Can you get it on subways or buses and through store easily?

Functionality – Are you going to be running with it? Is it sturdy enough for that? Does the stroller glide easily and move around corners tightly?

Fit – Are the stroller handles comfortable and at the right height for you? If you have the lean over it, you back will get fatigued quickly. Don’t forget to buy your CityGrips for the most comfortable handles!

Features – Look at things like seats, harness and additional items you will want to include like cup holders, etc.

These thought processes will get you going in the right direction and help you make the right choice when selecting your stroller.

CityGrips are a Must Have Item for New Moms

If you are a mom, you know that there are certain items that you must have for your baby when it arrives so that you are well prepared and ready to go. We of course think of diapers, receiving blankets, cute outfits and loads of baby gear. Honestly, could you even imagine how many things you needed when you were expecting with your first baby?

Well, now there is another item that you have to add to that list. CityGrips are the perfect item to make sure that you add to the “must have” list for new moms. The grips are just right for adding into a basket of bottles, wipes, powders and creams because they are going to be used just as much.

I know I use my strollers all the time! When I go anywhere, I have at least one stroller with me. The foldable, lightweight ones are so convenient yet those handlebars are so uncomfortable! Our CityGrips will give an extra added layer of comfort as well as protection for your hands from dirty handlebars. You don’t have to pass any of that dirt to your new baby!

My full size stroller has the same problem…hard plastic bars that make my hands hurt. But not since I added my comfy handle bar grips on them. Problem solved and I can easily remove them and wash them in a flash.

Now when one of your friends announces that she is expecting, do her a favor and send a package of the CityGrips so she doesn’t have to go through what we did! She will thank you again and again!
